Did You Know?

Did you know that with Knovel you can test the corrosion rate of a material in contact with thousands of different media?

For example, use Fielded Search to find the corrosion rate of steel exposed to acetic acid.

In the first group, specify “acetic acid” as the keywords and “Exposure Medium” in the field box.

In the second group, specify ’steel’ as the keywords and “material or substance name” in the field box.

For additional precision, you can set the field “Corrosion Rate” to exists.
You can search by the exposure medium and the material to find corrosion data for the combination.

Or you can also use search to look for a material that is resistant to corrosion in a specific medium.
Information like this can be useful in determining inspection and replacement schedules as plant equipment begins to age.
